These buses leave at a number of long distance bus stations, including Shanghai Qiche Zongzhan (Shanghai Central Bus Station, which is located in next to Shanghai Raiway Station); Hengfeng Qiche Zhan (Hengfeng Bus Station, at 710 Hengfeng Road); Keyun Zongzhan (General Passenger Bus Station, at 1662 Zhongxing Road); Bashi Hutai (Bus Hutai, at 1015 Zhongshan North Road). With buses, generally you show up, buy a ticket and go with the next bus available. Some buses are nicer than others (express, air-conditioned, freeway-using, etc.), so you may want to pay attention to what sort of bus service you're looking at.
